Here we see the battleship Nagato in the foreground, and a Nachi class cruiser (either Myoko or Haguro) in the background, seen in the Tablas Strait, heading towards the San Bernardino Strait in the build-up to the battle of Leyte Gulf. Nagato and Haguro fought in the battle of Samar, which both survived. The Haguro was hit by a torpedo during the advance, and had to return to Singapore for repairs
