Here we see one of the two Nagato Class battleships after their final major refits. In the mid 1920s the original two funnels were trunked into the single funnel seen here and in the mid 1930s the pagoda foremast structure was installed. The Nagato herself survived the war and was destroyed during the Bikini atom bomb tests. The Mutsu was destroyed by a magazine explosion on 8 June 1943 in Hiroshima Bay.
