Merchant Seaman rescued from African Coast
Here we see an Allied merchant seaman being transfered from an African canoe to the vessel rescuing him. He was part of a group who had spent twelve days at sea in an open boat after their ship was sunk, before coming ashore on the African coast. They were rescued after tracing SOS into the sandy beach.
