Matilda II passes 40mm Bofors Gun

Here we see a Matilda II passing a 40mm Bofors gun during a South-Eastern Command training exercise for young officers. South-Eastern Command was formed early in 1941 and covered Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Later in the year Montgomery was put in charge of the command.

Looks at the long history of the Bofors guns, most famous as a naval anti-aircraft gun of the Second World War, but that is still be produced in new version today, eighty years after it was first designed.
