Wireless Operator on B-24 Liberator
Here we see a British wireless operator on a B-24 Liberator, probably during a trans-Atlantic flight in 1941 when the first Liberator Is were delivered to Britain. These aircraft then went to Coastal Command as they weren't felt to be suitable for bombing operations over Europe. This wireless operator had prior experience with Imperial Airways, making him a good choice for the dangerous trans-Atlantic flights.
