King's Certificate of Honour, First World War
Here we see the King's Certificate of Honour, given to soldiers who had been invalided out of the British army by illness or wounds during the First World War. The certificate was designed by Bernard Partridge, a famous illustrator who drew the cartoons in Punch for over fifty years, and also drew a number of recruitment posters.
