Ship explodes during Japanese raid on Darwin
Here we see a ship carrying mines exploding during a Japanese raid on Darwin. The ship in the foreground is a US destroyer that was picking up survivors from the water. This means this can't be the large raid of 19 February 1942, as the only American destroyer at Darwin on that day was the four stacker USS Peary.
