Indian Wounded in Hospital at Kut
Here we see wounded Indian soldiers in a hospital at Kut-el-Amara, during the long Ottomon siege of the city. The Mesopotamian expedition had been mounted by the Indian Army, and was one of the biggest disasters to befall the British away from the Western Front, with the entire garrison forced to surrender and tens of thousands of casualties suffered during the failed relief expeditions.
