Handley Page Halifax Mk II series I of No.10 Squadron on way to Italy
Here we see a force of Handley Page Halifax Mk II series 1s of No.10 Squadron gaining height after taking off from RAF Melbourne, Yorkshire, at the start of a raid on Turin, Italy. This dates it to August 1942 or later, when the squadron moved to Melbourne. This was the first version to have the mid-upper turret, but all three are hidden behind the left wings of each aircraft in this picture!
