Here we see the January 1944 page in E. Griffin's logbook, recording his service with No.500 Squadron in North Africa. In this month he flew one convoy escort missions and three anti-shipping sweeps and three 'Swamp' missions, where the area around a U-boat sighting was saturated with aircraft.
