Here we see the record of E. Griffin's training with direction finding equipment at No.1 (Coastal) Operational Training Sunit at Silloth, on the Cumbria Coast. He was training in Medium Frequency and High Frequency Direction Finding. HF/ DH or 'Huff Duff' is most famous for its use agains the U-boats, as the British were able to use it to pin-point the location of any U-boat that broadcast a radio message back to base while at sea.
