German Gas Shells at Luttre, c.1919
Here we see a dump of German gas shells at Luttre, Belgium (just to the north of Charleroi) that was abandoned intact after the armistice of 11 November 1918. The area was still behind the German front lines at the end of the war, although the advancing Allies were getting closer rapidly.
