First Hot Meal for 11 Days, Buna
Here we see some of the troops who had fought at Buna on New Guinea getting their first hot meal after eleven days. The battle at Buna was fought at the northern end of a long, narrow supply route across the Owen Stanley mountains, using the famous Kokoda Trail for much of the route, so getting supplies of any type to the front was difficult.
