Here we see a Fiat CR.42 that had been captured by the British after making a forced landing at Orfordness in Suffolk on 11 November 1940 during the brief Italian involvement in the blitz. It was salvaged and given the British serial BT474 and then went to the Air Fighting Development Unit, where it spent the rest of the war. The aircraft is now on display at the Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon, in Italian colours.
