Fiat BR.20 crashed in Suffolk, 1940

Here we see the wreckage of a Fiat BR.20 of the Regia Aerionautica that crashed near Bromeswell near Woodbridge in Suffolk during the only major daylight raid carried out by the Italians during the Blitz, on 11 November 1940. The raid was repulsed with heavy losses for the Italians and not repeated. Although the fuselage looks fairly intact, the left engine has come off and can be seen facing backwards under the tail, where it is being examined by an RAF airman.
