Eaglet Pub Bombed, 1917
Here we see bomb damage to the Eaglet Pub, on Seven Sisters Road, London, during a raid on 29-30 September 1917. The building has survived because of the nature of its construction, with metal girders supported by metal pillars holding up the upper stories, while the facade of the ground floor was largely cosmetic. Note the barrels that are still just about held in place on top of what looks to be part of the bar. Sadly four people were killed in the bombing.
