Dunkerque from the right
Here we see the French battleship Dunkerque from the right. Dunkerque was one of the ships scuttled at Toulon when the Germans attempted to seize the port on 27 November 1942. From this angle we get a good view of her aircraft hanger (the rectangular structure towards the stern), with the catapult behind it. One of the quad 5.1in gun turrets can be seen on top of the hanger, and another is visible to the right (although the guns are hidden by the crew lining the rails). The picture dates to after the refit of 1937 in which she was given a funnel cap.
