Crusader I cruiser tank on tank transport, North Africa, 1942

Here we see a Crusader I cruiser tank being moved on a tank transporter to the Tel el Eisa sector of the El Alamein front, probably during the summer of 1942, around the period the First battle of El Alamein (1-27 July 1942). The Crusader I can be identified by the small gunner's lookout (to the left of the crewman next to the gun), which stands proud on the Crusader I but is flush with the turret front on the Crusader
