Crossing Kanusi River on 'Flying Fox'
Here we see an Australian soldier using a 'Flying Fox' (now known as a zipline) to cross the Kanusi (Kumusi) River, somewhere on the Kokoda Trail. The Trail crossed the river at Wairopi, where there was a wire rope bridge, but this would have been cut during the Japanese retreat, forcing the Australians to build their own crossings.
