Rescued crew from U-269
Here we see some of the 39 survivors from U-269, which was sunk by HMS Bickerton south-east of Torquay on 25 June 1944, during German attempts to attack the convoys heading to Normandy to support Operation Overlord. U-269 had taken part in three wolf packs, but hadn't sunk any ships by the time she was lost.
