Here we see Consolidated Coronado GR Mark I (modified) JX495 at the Marine Aircraft Experimental Establishment, Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire. At this stage the aircraft still carries its turrets, but the Coronado lacked the range to be used on maritime patrol duties, and like most of the RAF's Coronados this aircraft ended up serving as a long range transport air with No.231 Squadron, based in Canada.
