Here we see a Cruiser Tank Comet (A34) from the front. The Comet was a rare example of a British tank of the period that was designed to carry a high powered gun, in this case the Vickers 77mm Ordnance Quick Firing Mk II which dominates this picture. The Comet arrived too late to make a significant contribution to the fighting during the Second World War, entering combat after the crossingf of the Rhine.
