Here we see Raymond Collishaw in the cockpit of a Sopwith Camel. Collishaw remained in the RAF after the First World War, and commanded the RAF in Egypt from 1938 to July 1941, leading it during the first year of the North African command. The angle of this picture is slightly misleading - at first glance it looks as if the Camel only has one machine gun, but the pad to the left of the cockpit strut comes from the left gun, while the mechanism to the right of the strut is from the right gun! The shared gun sight can be seen above the right hand gun.
The picture probably dates to the summer of 1918, when Collishaw was the commander of No.203 Squadron, RAF (previously No.3 Naval Squadron, RNAS), but could come from slightly earlier when he was serving with No.13 Naval Squadron. Before that he flew different aircraft.
