Churchill, Hopkins and Moore-Brabazon inspecting bombers
From left to right we see Winston Churchill, Harry Hopkins and Charles Moore-Brabazon, inspecting British and American bombers. Hopkins was a personal envoy of President Roosevelt and a crucial supporter of the British cause, and was carefully cultivated by Churchill. Moore-Brabazon was an aviation pioneer - holder of the first pilot's licence issued in Britain, the first Englishman to make an officially recorded flight in England and a veteran of the RFC and RAF. He was Minister of Aircraft Production from May 1941 to February 1942.
