Casabianca arrives at Algiers
This picture recreates the moment the French submarine Casabianca arrived at Algiers to join the Allies, after escaping from Toulon as the Germans attempted to seize the French fleet. Although most of the fleet was scuttled, several submarines made it out. The Casabianca played a part in the liberation of Corsica and survived the war.
