Canadians Guarding Palais Schaumburg, Bonn
Here we see two Canadian sentries outside the Palais Schaumburg at Bonn. At the time this was the residence of the Canadian General Officer Commanding at Bonn, Sir Artur Currie. Previously it had been the residence of Prince Victoria, the sister of Kaiser Wilhelm II. It later became the primary seat of the Federal Chancellery and official residence of the Chanceller of West Germany from 1949 to 1976, and since 2001 has been a secondary seat for both.
