Canadian Irish enter Belfast Cathedral, 1917
Here we see a party from the 208th Battalion (Canadian Irish) of the Canadian Expeditionary Force marching into Belfast Cathedral to deposit their regimental colours. The battalion left Canada in May 1917, and presumably landed in Northern Ireland after their trans-Atlantic voyage. Their colours were left in the Cathedral for the duration of the war.
