British Fighters over the Alps, c.1918
Here we see a formation of British fighters flying over the Alps at some point during the First World War. The aircraft are sometimes identified as Bristol Fighters, which do match this configuration. If that is the case these aircraft would come from a flight of No.28 Squadron which was sent to Italy in March 1918 where it became Z Flight of No.34 Squadron, before splitting off to become No.139 Squadron on 3 July 1918.
