Bren Gun Carrier passing Italian monument, Sidi Barrani
Here we see the crew of a Bren Gun Carrier looking at a moment erected by the Italians after they captured Sidi Barrani in September 1940. Sidi Barrani was recaptured by the British (for the first time of many) on 10-11 December 1940 during Operation Compass, and this picture was taken on 16 December, after the fighting had moved on.
