Brazilian Naval Officers in U-boat Engine Room
Here we see a group of Brazilian naval officers in the engine room of a captured German U-boat, during a visit by a Brazilian naval squadron to Britain. Brazil had declared war on Germany in October 1917, after a series of Brazilian ships were sunk by U-boats. The squadron reached Gibraltar on 11 November 1918, and Britain after the armistice.
