Here we see the second prototype of the Boulton Paul Balliol T Mk 1 (VL917), powered by a Armstrong Siddeley Mamba I turbo-prop engine. When this aircraft made its maiden flight in 1948 it became the first single engine turbo-prop powered aircraft to fly.
