Australian Munition workers listening to speach
Here we see a group of Australian munition workers who have come from Australia to Britain listening to a speech by Colonel Samuel Barraclough before disembarking from their ship. Barraclough was an Australian engineering professor who administered the Australian Munitions Workers scheme in London, which saw thousands of skilled Australian workers come to Britain during the First World War.
