Artillery inside Baku Arsenal 1918
Here we see some of the mixed artillery that was gathered to defend Baku during the brief Anglo-Armenian attempt to defend the city in the autumn of 1918. This scene was inside the Baku arsenal, which had previously been used as a mosque by the Persian shahs, bnefore 1813 when the city was finally captured by the Russians after several attempts. The random mix of guns helps explain the failure of the attempt to hold the city.
