Armstrong Whitworth F.K.8 chasing German aircraft
Here we see an Armstrong Whitworth F.K.8 chasing a German aircraft at some point in 1918. The F.K.8 was a reliable and generally succesful design, but it was also rather too stable and pedestrian to serve as a true fighter, instead being used as a reconnaissance aircraft, bomber and artillery spotting aircraft, but encounters like this would still have been common.
