Armenia Troops drilling at Baku, 1918
Here we see a force of Armenian soldiers drilling at Baku, ready to defend the city against a possible Ottoman attack. A small British force, Dunsterforce, was sent to support them, but the local troops performed badly, and the available White Russian and British forces were unable to defend the city and had to retreat.
