Crew of MV Alstertor in small boat
Here we see the crew of the MV Alstertor in a small boat after they scuttled the Alstertor. The Alstertor was a cargo ship that was used as a supply ship for German raiders in the Indian Ocean, then to carry prisoners back to Germany. She was spotted by Allied aircraft and ships while in the Atlantic, and her crew scuttled the ship. The entire crew and all the prisoners onboard were rescued by the British destroyers Faulknor, Fearless and Fury
