Here we see the Gearing class destroyer USS Theodore E Chandler (DD-717) on fire support duties off Vietnam on 20 November 1966, with a Navy spotter flying in the Army 'Bird Dog'. This was taken after her FRAM upgrade, which gave her the wide upper deck supported by pillars along the sides.
