Here we see the Wickes class destroyers USS Tarbell (DD-142) at New York on 24 July 1943. This aerial view gives us a good view of the layout of the ship. Note the aft gun on top of an enlarged aft deck house, the splinter shields around the top of both deck houses and the bridge and the electronics on the mast.
