USS Shaw (DD-373) after attack on Pearl Harbor
Here we see the Mahan class destroyer USS Shaw (DD-373) split almost in two by an explosion of her forward magazine, caused by fires started by three bomb hits during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. She is still in the wreckage of the floating drydock YFD-2. Remarkably the Shaw was able to depart for San Francisco on 9 February 1942 and was fully repaired by the end of June!
