Skirmish Drill on USS Louisiana (BB-19), 1914
Here we see some of the crew of the Connecticut class battleship USS Louisiana (BB-19) taking part in skirmish drill on the quarter deck in April 1914 while on their way to Vera Cruz, where a US attempt to seize the waterfront in reaction to the earlier arrest of US sailors at Tampico and to stop arms reaching the Mexican government
triggered a battle late in April followed by a seven month long US occupation of the port.
