USS Laub (DD-263) receiving mail, 1919
Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS Laub (DD-263) receiving mail at sea on 16 September 1919. The mail is probably being carried on the small motor launch that can be seen behind the destroyer (the unusual looking streaks in the sky above her are actually damage to the photograph, and not an unusual mail delivery system.
