Damaged Torpedo in deck storage, U-505
Here we see a damaged torpedo in the deck storage of the captured Type IXC U-boat U-505. Space inside the boat was very limited so many supplies, including spare torpedoes, were stored outside the pressure hull and could only be accessed when the submarine was on the surface.
