Squadron of RAF R.E.8s by roadside, Spring 1918
Here we see a squadron of Royal Aircraft Factory R.E.8 reconnaissance aircraft lined up by a roadside during the German spring offensives of 1918. The squadron had presumably been forced to retreat from its airfield by the advancing Germans.
