Here we see a Soviet soldier armed with a PTRD-41 anti-tank rifle in a blockhouse that looks to be dug into the ground and covered with a timber roof, probably late in 1942. He is well stocked with ammo for the rifle, which was still capable of penetrating the side armour of the German tanks of 1942, especially at close range.
