US 8in Howitzer in Action, 1918
Here we see a British designed BL 8in Howitzer in action with US troops on the Western Front. Four regiments of the US Coastal Artillery are known to have used the 8in howitzer in combat. The 58th Regiment used the US built 8in Howitzer M1917 while the 44th, 51st and 59th Regiments used the British built BL 8in Howitzer Mk VI-VIII
