Here we see Royal Engineers and infantry from the 58th (London) Division resting in a reserve trench near Albert on 9 August 1918. This was the second day of the Battle of Amiens, when the division was involved in the capture of Chipilly Ridge. The ridge was captured late in the day by the 33rd U.S. Division.
