Solder of 51st Durham Light Infantry, Bonn, 1919
Here we see a soldier from the 51st Durham Light Infantry on guard duty in Bonn in 1919. The 51st went through several name changes during the First World War, starting as the 11th (Reserve) Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment. It was a home based training regiment throughout the war and only went overseas as part of the Army of Occupation.
