Here we see a German 15cm schwere Feldhaubitze 18, the standard heavy howitzer of the German Army, that had been abandoned during the Soviet offensives that trapped the German Sixth Army in Stalingrad. The gun looks to be intact, suggesting that the retreat was very rapid, although there may be damage at the other end.
