Subject Index: Messerschmitt Bf 110
The Bf 110 was the pride of the Luftwaffe in 1939 and early 1940, but its flaws as a heavy fighter soon became obvious against the Spitfire. It laboured on as a ground attack aircraft and night fighter for the rest of the war, when its replacements failed to appear.
