The first service test Bell YP-39 Airacobra makes its maiden flight.

Bell receives an order for 254 P-39Fs Airacobras, using a new Aeroproducts propeller. Previous P-39s used a Curtiss Electric propeller, but increased production of military aircraft has left that propeller in short supply.
